A large gardening project is currently being built in the shade of the solar system and within the fence. A very active group grows vegetables and fruit for the villagers. In the shade of our solar array, we are creating work and healthy food for the local people. This gives meaning and hope to the villagers and additional acceptance for the solar project.  

Thanks to our collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), we have gained committed and competent support. GIZ’s contribution can be seen in concrete measures such as the provision of a cold storage room and gardening tools as well as the rehabilitation of a disused water source. In addition, we were able to make significant progress in the gardening project thanks to GIZ’s technical expertise.

There is also good news about the henhouse: We have been able to expand it, increasing the number of laying hens from 38 to 100. The eggs will be sold to the villagers – making the project more sustainable and ensuring the local supply of fresh food at the same time. The expanded barn is therefore a further step towards a sustainable project and a visible sign of how it is growing bit by bit.
