Giving the future
We have been sponsoring children in Hoachanas since 2003, with varying degrees of success. Education is the key to everything!
One of the girls we sponsored, Benhorita, was able to attend school. But when she became pregnant at the age of 16, her educational experience was interrupted. We did, however, continue to give her the support that she and her child needed.
Stanley, another recipient of our support, overcame many hurdles to finish school. He furthered his studies and has now returned to his home village in Hoachanas as a teacher. There, in addition to his job as an educator and looking after younger siblings, he organizes English tutoring for children and young people. He is a positive influence and role model.
Sponsorships like these have made us aware of the difficulties and obstacles the people in Hoachanas face every day. They motivate us to continue the work and to explore future projects.
